I tied my tubes in 2006 at the age of 23 because I did not think I ever wanted to have children. When I was 28, I began dating the love of my life and we immediately knew that we wanted to have a family together. We spoke with several fertility specialists in Colorado and because I had never been pregnant before they all recommended that we do IVF only. When we found the loving staff at Lakeshore it was truly a blessing. We had finally found a doctor who wanted to help us! They made us feel very welcome and we were aware of our odds prior to the surgery. My tubes were cut and cauterized, so there was no way of knowing if the damage would be repairable. Turned out the doctor who performed my tubal ligation did a pretty thorough job and left us with very little tube to work with. After the procedure, Dr. Turner informed us that my surgery was one of the most difficult he had performed. I was instructed to be extremely careful during my recovery. My tubes were almost short and I was also at risk for blood clots flying back home to Denver. My recovery went well and we began trying. We found out we were pregnant with our son on our three year wedding anniversary, March 28, 2017. It was the most amazing gift to know that we were going to get a chance at our dream of creating a family together. The Lakeshore staff was super supportive when we found out we were pregnant! They provided an order for a blood test and ultrasound to confirm we weren’t having a tubal pregnancy. We can never thank the staff enough for making our dream come true! We welcomed our first child, a boy named Deklan, on November 29, 2017. He is perfect! We look forward to trying for our second child next year. Thank you Lakeshore staff, for making our dream a reality!!
