At the young age of 21, I decided to have my tubes tied using Filshie clips. Much later in life, I met my husband and got married at the age of 36. We decided that we wanted to start a family and saw several fertility specialists. They all recommended IVF, stating it was our only real chance.
After a round of IVF, and it not being successful, stating that I was too old and that it would likely take multiple attempts to be successful. My husband and I both felt that all they saw when they looked at us was dollar signs.
After contacting Lake Shore and talking with Dr. Wendell A. Turner, M.D., we decided that we wanted to move forward. We do not have unlimited funds to keep throwing 10s and thousands of dollars at IVF.
The staff, especially Brittany Gribble, were kind, compassionate, and very patient. They took a scary and stressful time and made it a little easier with clear and caring instructions. Any time I had a question or concern, even after the procedure, Brittany had a complete answer right away.
My procedure was performed in October 2024, and I am proud to say we conceived in February 2025. Our little girl was born the following November. We are also free to try for another child, thanks to Dr. Turner and Lake Shore. At Lake Shore, you are not just a number; you are a patient. Thank you so much Dr. Turner and Brittany!
